Osos Del Sol is a social organization for Latino Gay Bears!

The purpose of Osos Del Sol is to create an alternative enviroment to the already existing bear scene and to promote understanding of the Latino culture and sensitivity of its values concerning being a gay bear.

Osos Del Sol is a local organization for Latino bears (osos) and cubs (ositos) and their friends. Osos Del Sol shall not be discriminatory based on age, race, religion, national origin , physical or mental ability, physical stature, sex, sexual orientation, sexual identification, or any other classification which can act as a precedent to divide people. Although the primary audience of Osos Del Sol shall be men ages 21 and over who identify as osos, membership shall also be extended to others in the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer community, including our allies.

There are many different names that may be substituted for Latino (i.e. Hispanic, Chicano, or other nationalities where Spanish is commonly spoken). While many varying definitions exist for the terms Latino. Oso, Osito, or related concepts, Osos Del Sol shall embrace all these definitions as a culmination of the embodiment of the diversity of world knowledge and discourse within the changing LGBTQ Latino community. Osos Del Sol shall not subscribe to any one definition of these abstract concepts, nor shall it encourage the use of one set of concepts over another.
